PM Modi’s Visit Brings High Alert: Entry-Exit Restricted Near Ahmedabad Riverfront for Kite Festival

Security arrangements have been tightened in the Riverfront area of Ahmedabad ahead of the International Kite Festival and Flower Show, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the event. Keeping public safety in mind, the city police have imposed temporary entry and exit restrictions in residential societies, flats and offices located along the Riverfront Road.

According to a notice issued by the Riverfront West Police Station, movement in and out of these buildings will remain restricted till the completion of the event on January 12, 2025. The decision has been taken to ensure smooth security arrangements during the Prime Minister’s visit and large public gatherings.

Police teams along with SRP personnel are carrying out checks in nearby societies, flats and offices. Details such as names, mobile numbers and identity proofs of residents are being collected. Security has also been increased at building gates, terraces and surrounding areas to prevent any untoward incident.

Police officials have appealed to local residents to cooperate with the authorities and follow the guidelines mentioned in the notice. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary movement in the Riverfront area during this period to help maintain law and order and ensure a safe event for everyone.
