Yoga is a gift of our Indian culture. A treasure given to mankind by ancient Indian tradition, To bring the gift of “Yoga Vidya” to the world stage and guide mankind towards health, well-being and humanity With a noble purpose, the Hon’ble Prime Minister addressed the 69th General Assembly of the United Nations on 21st June, “International Yoga”.
The proposal to celebrate it as “Day” was approved by the United Nations. Part of which date around the world 21st June is celebrated as “International Yoga Day”.
As a part of which, “Gujarat Rajya Yoga Board” has been formed by the Government of Gujarat with the resolution dated 1/06/R019 of the Department of Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities. The purpose of the Yoga Board is to increase the prevalence of yoga in the whole of Gujarat; people do yoga and to create an atmosphere about yoga in the whole of Gujarat and to keep people healthy and to encourage every citizen of the state to lead a healthy lifestyle and a healthy life.
Surya Namaskar Competition at 1st Jan 2024
Gujarat State Yoga Board organizes yoga camps, yoga samvad, yoga Jagran rally, yoga pay discussions, and different yoga programs at district/municipality/taluka levels to promote yoga and create awareness about yoga. It has been decided to organize a Surya Namaskar competition for the first time this year on 1st Jan 2024 to promote yoga at Modhera Sun Temple. The purpose, description, and terms of this are detailed below.
Description of Suryanamaskar competition:
The Suryanamaskar competition will be held from village level to state level, which will be separated in rural and urban areas. Surya Namaskar competition will be in four stages. In which first of all rural and N.P. And there will be competition at Manpa Ward level. Category-wise wise age limit for participation registration is as follows.
