Gujarat is set to receive another major industrial boost as Maruti Suzuki is planning to establish a new Giga Car Manufacturing Plant in the state. According to reports and industry sources, the proposed facility will come up at Khoraj, near Ahmedabad, marking one of the biggest automobile investments in Gujarat so far.
Massive Investment and Production Capacity
The upcoming Giga factory is expected to involve an investment of around Rupee 35,000 crore. Once fully operational, the plant is likely to have a production capacity of nearly 10 lakh vehicles per year, making it one of Maruti Suzuki’s largest manufacturing units in India.
This move aligns with Maruti Suzuki’s long-term strategy to expand production capacity in India to meet rising domestic demand and strengthen exports.
Big Employment Boost for Gujarat
One of the biggest benefits of the project will be employment generation. Reports suggest that the factory could create around 12,000 direct jobs, along with thousands of indirect employment opportunities in ancillary industries such as auto components, logistics, warehousing, and services.
This will significantly benefit local youth and boost economic activity in and around Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and nearby regions.

Khoraj’s location offers several advantages:
