Gandhinagar: Following the recent reformation of the Council of Ministers, the Rules Advisory Committee of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly has been reconstituted. The Hon’ble Speaker has issued an official order appointing new members to the committee.
As per the notification, the committee will now function with the following members:
- Hon’ble Speaker – Chairman of the Committee
- Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel – Hon’ble Chief Minister
- Shri Harsh Sanghavi – Hon’ble Minister of State
- Shri Rushikesh Patel – Hon’ble Minister
- Shri Jitu Vaghani – Hon’ble Minister
- Shri Raghavji Patel – Hon’ble Minister for Parliamentary Affairs
- Shri Kunvarjibhai Bavaliya – Hon’ble Minister
- Dr. Manisha Vakil – Hon’ble Minister (State)
- Shri Balkrishna Khanderao Shukla – Chief Whip of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly
- Dr. Tushar Chaudhary – Congress Party Leader
The order also clarifies that, as per Rule 180 of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly Rules, the Hon’ble Speaker will continue to serve as the Chairman of the Rules Advisory Committee.
The committee plays a key role in advising on the conduct of Assembly business, scheduling, and procedural matters. The reconstitution is seen as an important administrative step to ensure smooth functioning of the Assembly in the current term.
